Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran later left the company. Corcoran is among ABC's initial Shark Tank investors. To date, she has been in every seasons of Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts until February 2020. Her biggest deal was her investment of $350,000 in Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second of 10 children in a working class Irish-Catholic family. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a housewife. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr., her father, was constantly changing jobs throughout Corcoran's career. Her family sometimes relied upon free food delivery from a friendly local grocery store. Corcoran says that her father was a drunk who was rude to her mother and condescension. Corcoran was a troubled student in school. Later, she discovered she had dyslexia. Corcoran entered the high school system in St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was proficient in several courses her first year. She was transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a D.
