Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn (born August 19, 1965) is an American actress from the United States. Her most well-known work is her starring role as deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. As a result of her portrayal as Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. In the final season of the show Sedgwick won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. The show ended on August 13th, 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her role as a regular on Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick received an Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Madeline Wuntch in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born in July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Individuals (1992) as well as Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2011) are as well. Sedgwick was born New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who is a speech/family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick who is a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish was of English and Episcopalian heritage. Sedgwick identifies herself as Jewish and has claimed that she attends at Passover seders.
